Ahhh, summer has come to an end. The kids are back in school and just around the corner is the fall equinox. Though Southern California is going through another heat wave, temperatures will drop in several weeks, welcoming in the true feel of autumn.

I’m on vacation right now. Sometimes, we don’t know how hard and fast we’re going until we stop. We flew out to Massachusetts to visit my in-laws and they took our kids in while James and I went to Cape Cod for the weekend…by ourselves.

Summer time is here and I am loving it. I’m generally a fall/winter gal but now that I have a kid in the public school system, I’m really leaning into summers as a time to slow down, create a lot of free time for play and exploration, and impromptu picnics with family and friends.

Oh gosh, what a while it has been since I last blogged. Thank you all for giving me the space to settle into my new position.

Has anybody else been feeling crazy tired lately? Last week, I could have slept for three days straight. This was especially disconcerting because my end-of-the-year-and-holiday-to-do-list is multiple pages long.

Alrighty. I’ve been continually referring to this big change coming up in my life. It’s the reason why I took a little break from blogging as I needed to turn inward. It’s why I went to the woods by myself. It’s why time with my kids feels all the more precious these days.
